For households, farms, clinics, and businesses operating beyond reliable grid power, refrigeration remains one of the hardest loads to support. An All-in-one Solar Freezer changes that equation by combining a high-efficiency freezer cabinet, a DC compressor, a charge controller, and battery storage into a single pre-wired unit. FOSSIL has spent years refining this category so that users do not need to assemble separate solar panels, batteries, charge controllers, inverters, and freezer components.
Standard AC freezers require an inverter, draw high surge current at startup, and can drain a battery bank quickly. The FOSSIL All-in-one Solar Freezer avoids these problems by operating natively on DC power and by integrating all critical components in one cabinet. The result is lower installation cost, fewer failure points, and a much longer service life in off-grid environments.
Our All-in-one Solar Freezer series includes products such as Lithium Battery Solar Fridge, Solar Refrigerator with Panel and Battery, etc.
Traditional solar refrigeration systems often fail because of mismatched components. A solar panel may be undersized for a compressor, a lead-acid battery may be discharged too deeply, or an inverter may waste 15 to 25 percent of the energy as heat. FOSSIL engineers designed the All-in-one Solar Freezer to remove these failure points. The unit integrates a brushless DC compressor, an MPPT charge controller, a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, and a chest freezer cabinet with thick insulation. This integration allows every watt generated by the solar array to be used for cooling rather than lost in conversion.
A self-contained design also simplifies field service. Because the compressor, controller, and battery share one enclosure, a technician can diagnose the entire system without tracing wires across multiple devices. For users in remote locations, this translates into lower maintenance costs and shorter downtime.
Every FOSSIL All-in-one Solar Freezer is built around four subsystems that work together to deliver dependable cold storage.
The compressor is the heart of the freezer. Unlike AC compressors that require a boost from an inverter, the DC compressor in this unit accepts variable voltage directly from the solar charge controller. It tolerates input fluctuation from 10.5V to 31V, which means it keeps running even when clouds reduce panel output. The soft-start function draws only a fraction of the locked-rotor current of an AC unit, reducing stress on the battery and extending overall system life.
The integrated Maximum Power Point Tracking controller continuously adjusts the electrical operating point of the solar array. In partial shading or early morning light, an MPPT controller harvests up to 30 percent more energy than a basic PWM controller. This added efficiency allows a smaller solar array to keep the freezer cold throughout the day while also recharging the internal battery.
FOSSIL uses LiFePO4 chemistry because it delivers more than 2,000 cycles at 80 percent depth of discharge. Compared with lead-acid batteries, LiFePO4 cells are lighter, safer, and far more tolerant of deep cycling. The built-in Battery Management System protects against overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit, and high-temperature conditions, so the battery bank requires no separate external regulator.
The cabinet uses polyurethane foam insulation with a thickness of 60 to 80 millimeters depending on model. This dense foam layer slows heat transfer and keeps the interior cold for up to 72 hours without any power input. A magnetic door gasket and a reinforced lid help maintain temperature stability, which is critical for vaccine storage and food preservation.
